Julie Kent, Trial Paralegal
Ms. Kent brings to the firm 32 years' extensive experience and knowledge of legal procedures and trial requirements, supporting the firm in providing a superior level of representation and service both in and outside of the courtroom.
Biography
Julie's legal experience began as a Court Clerk for the 9th District Bankruptcy Court in Santa Rosa. She subsequently worked for an attorney in Santa Rosa, as both a legal secretary and paralegal, focusing on the preparation of Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcies for individuals and businesses.
While attending Sonoma State University to achieve her Paralegal Certification, she worked as a Winemaker’s Assistant, performing duties of legal compliance, human resources, and inventory control.
In 1994 Julie accepted a paralegal position with Brayton Purcell LLP, the largest plaintiff’s litigation firm north of the Golden Gate Bridge. She rapidly moved up the ranks, from Paralegal, to Trial Paralegal, and ultimately to the role of Trial Paralegal Supervisor, supervising as many as 9 paralegals at a time.
She also served as backup to the firm’s paralegal manager and from time to time would manage the entire paralegal department, consisting of 40 to 50 people.
After 18 years of working at Brayton Purcell LLP Julie accepted the position of Partner Paralegal at Gravett ♦ Kent, LLP in Napa, working primarily with Mr. Kent. Julie further expanded her experience at Gravett ♦ Kent, LLP in many areas including mortuary malpractice, probate, winery/brewery litigation, property disputes and construction litigation. She has assisted with settlement conferences and mediations, and was complimented by Judge Ellen James of JAMS in San Francisco for her skills during a multi-million dollar mediation.
Julie now serves as Trial Paralegal for KENT LAW. She has also acted as a trustee on several Estates. The firm has been complimented for offering their clients an outstanding, comprehensive team approach in handling cases from conception through trial or settlement. The combined skills and experience of this legal team offer clients a superior level of service and confidence that their interests will be well represented in legal matters.
